WWE Smackdown Preview here and it looks like it’s going to be a fun show tonight as we get to see some more fallout from Survivor Series.
There are two angles we see being the focus of tonight’s show, and we think it’ll involve Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
The Messiah pays
Team Smackdown was wiped out at Survivor Series and Rollins walked out on them, which didn’t help a whole lot.
Since his heel turn and the birth of the Messiah character following last year’s Raw when he tried to assume leadership of Raw after Team Raw lost, Rollins has been consistent.
And we expect more of the same tonight as he’ll explain his actions and challenge anyone in the locker room to step up and prove to him that they’re ready to be led.
Last year, Rollins infuriated Kevin Owens and Rey Mysterio, this year we think he’ll do so to Roman Reigns.
The Tribal Chief
It was only a matter of time until the show’s top two heels clashed in some way, and we think Reigns will respond to Rollins, taking his time, of course.
He’ll point out how he faced his challenge and won while Rollins gave himself up.
WWE Smackdown Preview thinks we’ll see a Jey Uso and Rollins match as Reigns will send him to do his dirty work and teach Rollins who the real leader on Smackdown is.
This will lead to Reigns coming down and the two of them dismantling Rollins to write him off television.
Since it’s been reported he’s going to leave to help Becky Lynch while she gives birth, this would be a great way for him to leave after being “injured.”
It’ll also allow him to come back in a month or two as a face after the birth of his child helped him see the light and we’ll get a Rollins vs. Reigns feud.
While we think Rollins is a far better heel than face, there isn’t a whole lot of wiggle room at the moment as Smackdown lacks top tier faces capable of threatening Reigns.
This is where WWE Smackdown Preview would normally point out why the brand separation doesn’t work and they wouldn’t have to swap back and forth, but we’ll let the sleeping dog lay.
With plenty of directions they can go in, we’re looking forward to tonight’s show. What do you think will happen? Let us know in the comments below.
