Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from the octagon last year after stopping Justin Gaethje and retaining his UFC Lightweight title. Dana White has actively tried to pull the Russian out of retirement, as there could be a number of huge lightweight bouts to be made.
Conor McGregor’s defeat against Dustin Poirier last weekend could have all but ended any hope that those two stars could square off again inside the octagon, and likely now means that there will be no huge money fight on offer that the Russian would even remotely consider. However, an offer has come the way of the Russian, which could see a sensational switch to a different sport.
UFC News: Khabib Offered Contract
Fans of Khabib would have been aware of the clip shared around social media of the Russian playing football in his homeland, and he revealed on social media that he would be interested in going down that route. At 32, it’s unlikely that many of the biggest clubs around Europe would be interested in signing the fighter. But, it would seem that his skills caught the attention of a Russian club, who have reportedly reached out to the unbeaten lightweight.
The club in question is FC Kamaz, who made a very public offer to Khabib on social media. They currently ply their trade in the third tier in Russia, but are just four points from the top of the league table. In a lengthy post, the club offered the Russian a trial and also did their best to sell themselves to the UFC legend.

In the post, the club revealed that they would be delighted for Khabib to join their ‘ambitious’ team, and that their will to win is similar to what Khabib was like in the win. The post invited the UFC star to a trial with the team, as they invited him to their training camp in February, which will be in Novorossiysk.
There hasn’t yet been a response by the undefeated UFC fighter on social media, which has only caught the imagination of MMA and soccer fans more over the last couple of days. It would certainly strike fear into the opposing team if Kamaz were able to call upon one of the world’s most fearsome men in their bid to gain promotion this season.
