WWE Raw Preview will have some popcorn ready for Drew McIntyre’s return from his COVID quarantine and treatment.
Oddly enough, Raw was actually better the last couple of weeks without him there, some have high expectations for tonight and his return.
The WWE has relied too heavily on gimmick matches to set up/continue feuds repeatedly and they grew old fast.
Unfortunately, McIntyre has been involved in a lot of those as well, with the biggest on probably being Bill Goldberg coming out on Legends Night to get in his face and accuse him of not having any respect.
Goldberg the heel
Oddly enough, it didn’t look like Goldberg enjoyed being the heel in fans’ eyes after he won the Universal Championship from The Fiend as he looked on edge when he and Roman reigns were soundly booed.
This time, he came out sounding like the old man people often make fun of I sitcoms that refuses to let go of past glories — “Four touchdowns in a single game!” for instance.
We think it was WWE’s attempt to make him look forceful, but it came off exceedingly whiny and complaintive more than anything, and him shoving McIntyre down didn’t help.
McIntyre being taller and as big didn’t help either.
So, we’re stuck watching a build up for a match that should never happen as well as a probably title run by Goldberg that should not happen, and all to give him a title he never won.
The man’s back
So, tonight we’re going to see McIntyre continue the build up for their match at this week’s Royal Rumble.
We fully expect McIntyre to come in and rock the mic as usual, and for there to be a confrontation between he and Goldberg that will get into a confrontation that will require WWE security to come out.
There’s every chance there will be a brawl between the two.
We expect this to either start the show off and continue throughout the night, or close the show and steal the thunder from Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship match against Alexa Bliss.
This segment will be entertaining and we hope it won’t be better than their upcoming match, but the way things have gone in the WWE in recent memory, WWE Raw Preview are crossing our fingers.
What do you think will happen tonight? Are you looking forward to seeing these two face off? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
