Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Preview. It looks like we have a couple of fun matches tonight.
Though we have a feeling one isn’t going to be as exciting or enjoyable as we’d like.
Intercontinental Championship – Big E (c) vs. Apollo Crews
We’re convinced Big E will be a great champion and he’s showing the will to defend his title against anyone that wants a shot.
He was going to hold an open challenge this week that Apollo Crews accepted before Big E could finish his thought.
This is a match we’d love to see, and with WE Smackdown improving week after week we’re sure it’d be a great one.
Until the show reverted back to its pre-Triple H ways last week.
It started with Big E and King Corbin’s match ending so quickly so they could get to a tag team match to further the storyline.
That’s something that happened in every episode on both major brands for the longest time, and it wasn’t needed as Sami Zayn on commentary could’ve worked up a great deal of heat without interfering.
And that’s what we expect will happen tonight.
Zayn will interfere in Big E and Crews’ match, probably costing Big E the title or coming close. It doesn’t feel right for him to lose it already.
So assuming he retains, it’ll be him and Zayn at the Royal Rumble for the title.
Smackdown Tag Team Championship – The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) (c) vs. Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode)
Out of the two matches, this is one we expect will go the distance as the two teams should put together a fun match.
Since there’s a lack of tag teams in the WWE currently, there aren’t a lot that would have a reason to come out and interfere and that’s a good thing.
This could be the match of the night if they’re allowed to let it all hang out and do their thing. Both teams are extremely talented and are very entertaining in the ring or on the mic.
As much as WWE Smackdown Preview Likes Ziggler and Roode, we think the Street Profits will retain and a rematch will be set for the Royal Rumble.
Since the WWE has been married to gimmick matches, it’s probably another team will be added to the mix for a triple threat match or something along those lines.
