WWE Smackdown Results were curious when Sami Zayn appeared on the ram and handcuffed himself to the barricade heading to the ring and said he’s not going anywhere.
This should be good.
Zayn said he’s entering the Royal Rumble, and then went onto his match last week when he lost to Apollo Crews. He protested Crews having a handful of his tights and being rewarded with it as Asuka and Charlotte Flair came out for their match.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – Asuka and Charlottle Flair (c) vs. The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan) w/Billie Kay
Tamina and Natalya watched from backstage despite beating the Riott Squad last week.
Flair started out against Riott with a lockup and a side headlock and takedown by Flair.
Riott fought to her feet, but Asuka blind tagged in.
Flair snapmared Riott to the mat, and Riott then ran at Asuka, who met her with an elbow and then a headlock.
Flair tagged in and bounced Riott’s head off the top turnbuckle and choked her out with her foot, then nailed her as she tried to reach Morgan.
Flair threw her into the opposite corner and Kay distracted Flair, but Flair hit Riott with an elbow when she tried to take advantage.
Riott tagged in Morgan and Flair threw Riott to the floor, apparently oblivious to the tag as she gabbed Kay’s hair and tried to pull her into the ring.
Morgan hit Flair with a basement dropkick on the apron to break the hold and then headed to the top ropes where she hit a crossbody for a pin attempt.
So close
Back from commercial, Flair was in control and kicking Morgan down in a corner.
Morgan slipped out of a slam attempt and blind tagged Riott in before hitting a hurricanranna on Flair.
Riott ran in and ducked a clothesline before surviving an around the world that went no where and hit Flair with a few rights before Flair threw her into a corner.
Riott caught herself in the corner and hooked a leg scissors to pull Flair into the turnbuckle, then rolled her up for a pin attempt.
Morgan came in and they hit a double slam on Flair for a pin attempt.
Riott and Morgan kicked Flair down in the corner and then went for a double team off the ropes, but Flair hit a kick and chops on both of them before she sent Riott into a turnbuckle.
Flair hit Morgan with a fallaway slam, a backbreaker, and slammed Morgan into the turnbuckle before Asuka hit a running knee for a pin attempt Riott broke up.
Flair sent Riott rolling to the floor with a big boot, and Morgan hit Flair with a step up kick, and then hit Asuka with one but Asuka caught her for an attempted ankle lock.
Asuka hit a release German suplex and tried to lock in an Asuka Lock, but Riott tagged in.
Riott rolled Asuka up for a pin, but Kay accidentally distracted the referee.
Asuka then knocked Morgan off the apron and into Key with a hip attack, and Riott nailed Asuka with a kick.
Asuka hit a knee and another as Flair hit a Natural Selection on Riott for the pin.
Apologies aren’t good enough
Backstage, Kay apologized to them for costing them the match, and Riott asked her what she didn’t mean by costing them the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Morgan told her she should add that to her resume, and Kay said she’s got some good news.
She spoke to Sonya Deville and got them into the Royal Rumble and offered to be Bianca Belair or Carmella for them to practice on.
Riott told her the Squad was better when it was just them and left Kay standing there.
Ouch, that’s gotta hurt for Kay. WWE Smackdown Results are curious what the WWE has planned for Kay. She’s a better talent than this, in our opinion.
