When it comes to great technical wrestlers, Lance Storm often gets a bit overlooked. A former 3 time WCW United States, 1 time WWE Intercontinental Champion and 3time WWE Tag Team Champion, Storm is a decorated champion. Lately however, he’s been more known as a trainer. The Storm Wrestling Academy has helped names like Peyton Royce, Oney Lorcan, Mickie James, Tenille Dashwood, Tyler Breeze, and Rachel Ellering to name a few.
However, as he enters the 30th year of his professional wrestling career, Storm wants to have a match to celebrate making it this far. He revealed this while speaking for a F4W podcast, but didn’t mention an opponent, though it could be obvious.
Lance Storm & Chris Jericho Are Longtime Friends & Rivals
Looking all the way back to their debuts, Lance Storm & Chris Jericho faced each other. Since even before then, they’ve been good friends, and often are able to bring out the best in each other. Jericho has made it clear that he wants his final match to be against Storm, and Storm initially retired after his match with Jericho at ECW One Night Stand 2005.
With Storm wanting to have another match in 2021 though, and Chris Jericho starting to reach the end of his in-ring career? Things could work out perfectly. There is another Jeri-Cruise set for late 2021, and that could be the perfect place to have this match again, and to close out the careers of both men.
Storm Has Never Wrestled A Pure Rules Match
Another option comes with Ring Of Honor. Storm might not have a long history with them, but has challenged for the ROH World Championship previously. With the Pure Rules division having made a comeback, and new champion Jonathan Gresham always looking to face the best?
This could be a perfect match for Storm in 2021. He’s always been one of the best technical wrestlers around, and would be amazing under the strict Pure Rules style. Storm last competed for ROH in 2014 during a joint show with PCW, where he lost to Joey Hayes.
