Last time we saw Ryan Nemeth on AEW Dynamite, he lost to PAC in 4 minutes and 20 seconds, but he’s back once again this week. He won last night on Dark against Aaron Solow, but tonight has to face arguably the best that AEW has to offer in Jon Moxley. Moxley might be focused on his coming match with Kenny Omega at Revolution, but that doesn’t mean he’ll let someone like Nemeth get by without an ass kicking.
Jon Moxley Makes Quick Work Of Ryan Nemeth
Moxley hit the ring with all his usual gusto, and Nemeth was not phased. Nemeth went right for a big DDT, but was thrown off by Moxley who threw a big boot. Moxley missed with the boot, but not the right hand. He’d nail Nemeth with some crossface blows, before going for the Jake Roberts style short arm lariat. Nemeth dodged, and hit a double chop to the throat, before being dumped on his head with a backdrop driver.
Moxley would stomp the hand on Nemeth, before just attacking the fingers. A big chop in the corner was followed with an irish whip, but Moxley ran into a big boot when he reached the opposite corner to follow up. Nemeth hit some shoulder tackles, and a big dropkick to take Moxley off his feet. Moxley countered a suplex attempt into a choke, before spinning Nemeth around into the elevated Paradigm Shift. A very Minoru Suzuki like finish, choking them out before the impact finisher.
What Do The Words Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch Mean To You?
After the match, Moxley grabbed a chair and microphone. The moment he woke up without the AEW World Championship, he knew he’d do anything to get it back. At Revolution, that is the perfect mindset. What comes to mind when you hear Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch? Fire, blood, burns, torture, agony… and vintage Japanese Wrestling magazines. How do these images make you feel? Disgusted? Revolted? Or a sick thrill.
These images make Moxley excited, and that’s because he’s an addict. He’s addicted to living close to the flame, to the feeling of coming out to the ring and leaving his blood, sweat and tears for all to see. Moxley bares his soul often, but an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch is something he’d never resist.
He doesn’t care if it’s a trap, because this is his kind of match. Omega is just the latest man to think they can take Jon Moxley out. When it’s all said and done at AEW Revolution, no one will be able to say Moxley didn’t give it all he had. If this is his end, it’s a helluva way to go out.
