At the end of AEW Dynamite last week, all hell broke loose. Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers defeated Jon Moxley & Death Triangle members PAC and Rey Fenix, but then who shows up but KENTA. The Bullet Club member has a shot at Jon Moxley’s IWGP United States Championship, and gets it later this month, but refuses to wait patiently. In all the chaos, Lance Archer also got involved to help Moxley, setting up this massive Falls Count Anywhere main event between Omega, KENTA, Moxley & Archer!
Not Much Teamwork Expected, Lots Of Violence However…
Don Callis joined commentary for this match, and Jon Moxley came to the ring with the IWGP United States Championship, all feeling right. Moxley simply looks better with a belt, and he’s held this one for 403 days. With this one being Falls Count Anywhere, we need to imagine this one won’t stay in the ring for very long. T
As the bell rang, KENTA went right after Moxley with the contenders briefcase, while Archer went after Omega. KENTA went after Archer next, but just annoyed him. Omega hit the chop block on Archer, taking the legs out while Omega hit Kotaro Crusher. Moxley now became the target, Omega hitting chops and KENTA hitting kicks.
Omega hit a running elbow, KENTA a running knee, before Archer intercepted Omega with a shoulder tackle. Archer went for a powerbomb on Omega, before taking a hurricanrana. Moxley hit a knee to the back, sending Omega outside, and focusing on KENTA. They traded boots to the head, KENTA went for Go To Sleep, Moxley counters into the Paradigm Shift, Omega came in with a trash can.
Omega got Moxley on his shoulders, hit the rolling fireman’s carry, hopped to the middle rope, grabbed the trash can and used it for the moonsault. The can was set up in front of Moxley’s face, allowing KENTA to hit the hesitation dropkick.
All Hell Breaks Loose
Archer came into the ring with a ladder, wiping out both Omega & KENTA. Moxley followed KENTA outside, while Archer threw Omega into the ladder in the ring. On the outside, KENTA hit Moxley with a trash can lid, while Archer threw Omega through some production equipment. In the ring, Moxley tried to choke KENTA out, before taking a spin kick and the running knee strike while he sat in a steel chair.
Archer applied the EBD Claw on Omega over near the bed of Pretty Peter Avalon, as KENTA caught up with his partner. KENTA would tell Avalon to leave, before hitting him in the face with the Go To Sleep. Archer wouldn’t be suplexed by KENTA, but Omega would be chokeslammed onto the bed and broke it. This got a two count, as KENTA from the pinfall up.
Moxley caught up with the fight, and kicked KENTA in the jaw for a near fall. Some crossface blows were followed by Moxley taking KENTA up into the stands and into the back. Moxley was thrown into a drink machine, and KENTA into a fridge. A steel table would be used for a DDT from KENTA, before he applied the omaplata crossface. Archer broke it up with a box of Genuine Idaho potatoes.
Omega threw a trash can at Archer, before Moxley beat Omega with a potato. They’d head near the entrance way, finding their way back to ringside. Moxley had a steel chair, and Austin Gunn got some pictures like a good fan does.
Kenny Omega & KENTA Gets Some Help
Kendo stick in hand, Moxley cracked Omega across the back, before sending Moxley into the ring. Omega blocked a kendo stick shot, but took another before nailing a V-Trigger. Moxley took another V-Trigger and flopped onto a table as Archer & KENTA were on the stage. Archer cleared commentary away, before KENTA fought free of a powerbomb to hit a diving foot stomp on Moxley.
Omega looked up to see an angry Lance Archer, who welcomed the kendos stick shot, took a basement dropkick and came back with a one armed chokeslam. Archer went old school with a rope walk, and got the springboard moonsault for a two count. He set up Blackout, but here comes The Good Brother & KENTA. Jake Roberts hit as short armed clothesline on Anderson, but Gallows took him out. Omega would have ended Roberts with a V-Trigger, but Moxley had a barbed wire bat.
KENTA hit a Go To Sleep to take out Moxley, before Archer almost took them both out with a chokeslam. Double low blow from Omega & KENTA, Magic Killer from Good Brothers, V-Trigger from Omega, and an assisted One Winged Angel to end Archer and this match.
With these four men and no rules, we were always going to get pure hardcore chaos and it delivered. There was some crisp wrestling in this match, but mostly just chaos. Where else could you see Archer break up a submission with a box of potatoes? I love professional wrestling sometimes. Match Rating: 4.25/5 (**** ¼)
