There was another entertaining three hours of Raw to kick off the week on Monday night, with a shock return of Shane McMahon also thrown in for good measure. Three title matches were set for the upcoming Elimination Chamber during Raw, with Lacey Evans set to take on Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship among the announced bouts.
As well as that, Keith Lee returned to challenge Bobby Lashley for the US Title, which will also include Riddle at Elimination Chamber. However, there is no doubt that the champion with the most work to do at the upcoming PPV is Drew McIntyre, as he will defend against five other challengers.
WWE News: Which Superstars Won’t Win?
As is traditionally the case with an Elimination Chamber match, there are a number of stars that you can write off in the contention immediately. At the top of that list would be Jeff Hardy, who may get one final run as champion eventually, but it won’t come with a win at the end of the month.
Hardy is likely involved in the match to do something crazy, and we have no doubts that he will do just that at some point during the match. Randy Orton is also another unlikely winner, as the WWE are certainly going to pull the trigger on him and The Fiend in the near future, and that moment could come during the Elimination Chamber match.
WWE News: Most Likely Genuine Contenders
If McIntyre’s title run is going to end, then it will likely be at the hands of one of the other superstars. The Miz may have a trick up his sleeve and remove himself from the contest, as he doesn’t really need to be in the match given that he is the Money in the Bank holder. AJ Styles would certainly present a good winner, as a match with Edge at Mania could be a massive contest for the WWE Championship.
Sheamus is in the most heated current rivalry with the reigning champion, and a win for the Irishman would certainly be enough to ensure that their story could at least continue until the next PPV. But, in truth, it looks as though McIntyre will overcome the huge challenge and continue on his path to Mania as the defending WWE Champion on the red brand.
