It seems as though you can’t go a week without Jake or Logan Paul calling out another famous name for a boxing fight, and that is the case once again this week. However, this time it is the turn of young heavyweight hopeful Tommy Fury, who is the younger brother of WBC champion Tyson Fury.
After Tyson called out Paul for the fight on behalf of his brother, Tommy soon got involved and claimed that he would be willing to make the fight happen.
Boxing News: Paul Training For Next Fight
Paul would be wise not to look past his upcoming fight that he has planned, as the social media star will be taking on former UFC competitor Ben Askren in April. This will be the biggest challenge of his boxing career to date, as he will be coming up against a star that has a proven record in the ring. Previously, he has beaten fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA player Nate Robinson. However, in Askren, he will be coming up against a fighter that had a decent record in UFC.
Askren recently released a video of himself training for the upcoming fight, in which he looked extremely sharp and looked like he was taking the fight extremely seriously. The former UFC star competed 22 times in professional MMA competition, and was only beaten on two occasions. Both of those defeats came in his last two appearances in UFC, as he was first beaten by Jorge Masvidal, before he suffered a successive defeat against Demian Maia in October 2019.
Boxing News: Could Fury vs Paul Happen?
We have slightly given up on predicting what will happen next in the world of celebrity boxing, which means that we wouldn’t be surprised to see Fury take on Paul. However, whether it will be the right thing for Fury’s career remains to be seen. He will certainly get more exposure from the fight than he has in recent bouts, and could see him open up to an American audience.
Fury emerged as a household name during the 2019 series of Love Island, as he finished second in the huge British reality show. Since returning to the ring following the conclusion to filming, he has won both fights very easily. The most recent of those wins came this past weekend, as he beat Scott Williams by TKO in the second round.
