On this past week’s episode of Ring Of Honor TV, La Faccion Ingobernable was able to stand tall over The Foundation after a chaotic eight man tag team match. Dragon Lee was set for not one, but two title defenses this Friday at Ring of Honor’s 19th anniversary event, set to defend the ROH World TV Championship against Tracy Williams, and then also would team with Kenny King to defend the ROH World Tag Team Championships against Williams and Rhett Titus.
However, Dragon Lee will not be able to get to make these defenses. Lee suffered a ruptured eardrum, and will require minor surgery. This means that he will not be able to fly in and make these planned defenses. However, it doesn’t mean the belts will be put up as vacant. It helps to have friends.
All Belts Will Still Be Defended At 19th Anniversary
Both of his planned matches have already been rebooked by Ring Of Honor, and easily moved things around thanks to Dragon Lee being a member of La Faccion Ingobernable. Kenny King is stepping in to help defend the ROH TV Championship, taking on Tracy Williams.
Tracy Williams will still be working two matches on the night, but instead of teaming with Rhett Titus to face Dragon Lee & Kenny King, La Bestia Del Ring is stepping in to make his ROH PPV debut. The patriarch of the faction has been impressive in the ring, and this will be his biggest match yet.
Dragon Lee’s injury and surgery is minor, but due to how Ring Of Honor tends to do batch tapings off of their PPV events? Dragon Lee could miss those tapings, and thus be away from ROH for the coming months. This is poor timing seeing as La Faccion Ingobernable is being propped up as one of the top groups in the company, but the health of Dragon Lee is much more important than any storylines.
We here at TheOvertimer hope that Dragon Lee makes a complete and speedy recovery, and can be back to what he does best in the ring. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
