It’s been a while since Flip Gordon & Flamita last wrestled, but there is still bad blood. Gordon won their last encounter, and proceeded to unmask Flamita in an act of pure disrespect. When this match was announced, Gordon would try to look past Flamita to his ROH World Championship shot he is owed. If Flamita can win here however, maybe he deserves to be getting that shot.
Flamita Impresses In First Singles Match In Over A Year
There would be no Code of Honor with Flip Gordon, and they’d waste no time getting into it. They’d trade some open hand chops in the middle of the ring, before Flamita took Gordon out of the ring with a hurricane. Gordon went to the outside, luring Flamita out and ducking under the baseball slide and driving Flamita into the barricade.
Flamita rolled off the shoulders of Gordon on the outside, and dodged a PK. Gordon grabbed his foot as he went for a kick, propped it up on the apron and nailed a superkick. Back in the ring, Flamita hit a handspring back elbow before Gordon went outside and took a moonsault off the middle turnbuckle to the floor, and Flamita landed on his feet!
Flamita went to the top rope, but was picked out of the sky by a jumping knee strike from Gordon. Gordon & Flamita would trade trash talk and heavy blows in the middle of the ring, before Flamita punched Gordon in the jaw. He’d slip out of a Flip-5 attempt, and catch Gordon with a powerbomb.
Flip Gordon Meets A Ghost From Weeks Past
Flamita set up Gordon for a dive, but was caught on the top rope. He’d push Gordon off and jump over him, and catch Gordon as he went to the ropes. Flamita was setting Gordon up for a superplex, but Gordon slipped away and nailed a powerbomb. Gordon followed up with a spin kick, but only got a two count.
Flamita would take a chop to the face, but planted Gordon with a poisonrana, spiking him on top of his head. He’d follow up by dropping Gordon with a superkick, and hit a frog splash, clearing 3/4th of the ring with the dive!
This only got a near fall, and Gordon would come back with a springboard slingblade for a two count. Flip-5 would be set up, but Flamita landed on his feet. He’d fail to hit the 619, and Gordon would catch him in position for the Flip-5. A chair was shoved into the ring, and this distracted both Gordon and the referee, and it was all thanks to Mark Briscoe. He’d whack Gordon with the chair, and Flamita took the roll up win.
