The talk of the wrestling news world yesterday was former NXT & United States Champion Andrade requesting his release from WWE. He’s been off TV since the October 10th, 2020 episode of Monday Night RAW, where he lost a match to Angel Garza in just under three minutes. Given that Andrade is engaged to one of the biggest stars in the company with Charlotte Flair, him asking for his release was big.
However, it was denied. This means that he will likely need to sit out the rest of his contract with WWE, a move that doesn’t sit well with fans. It likely won’t sit well with his fiancee either, and could lead to an even bigger exit from WWE. Could Charlotte Flair prepare to leave WWE alongside Andrade?
Both Andrade & Charlotte Flair Have Control Of Trademarks For Post-WWE Runs
While it’s hard to imagine Charlotte Flair leaving WWE, given that she was trained in the Performance Center and became a 13 time Women’s Champion, it’s not impossible. She knows this, and back in 2019 filed for two trademarks. Charlotte Flair has the trademarks for both “Ashley Flair” and “The Queen Of Wrestling” in her back pocket.
Similarly, Andrade has “La Sombra” and “El Idolo”, with Sombra being his name he used during the bulk of his career in Mexico & Japan, before unmasking and going to WWE. This gives them easy branding and merchandise chances if they leave WWE, either separately or together.
Charlotte Is Running Out Of Things To Do In WWE Quickly
This would also be a great choice for the career of Charlotte Flair, as she has really run out of people to face within the WWE system. She has run through just about everyone, and there’s very few fresh matches left on the roster for her. Another match with Asuka would be great and all, but Flair has been spinning her tires for quite some time now.
This makes the prospect of an AEW run all the better. It would open up a new world of matches for Flair, and matches with the likes of Nyla Rose, Thunder Rosa, Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida and Riho would be major events for sure. This would also open the door for her to go to places like Japan to wrestle for Tokyo Joshi Pro or even Stardom. It would just open her career up majorly.
It’s too soon to call if Charlotte Flair will show any backlash to this request from her fiance both being not used on TV, and not being allowed to go somewhere where he can follow his passion.
