Xia Li has been on an absolute warpath lately in NXT, ever since being re-trained and conditioned by Mei Ling. She nearly took Kacy Catanzaro out for good, and Kayden Carter barely avoided the same fate. Tonight, Li has Mei Ling in her corner for a tag team contest, but even with NXT having Women’s Tag Team Championships now, this one isn’t about climbing the rankings. It’s about revenge for Catanzaro & Carter, and about sending a message for Tian Sha.
Xia Li Fights Both Opponents Herself
Catanzaro & Carter made their way to the ring first, giving Tian Sha plenty of time to intimidate with their grand entrance. Both Xia Li & Boa had swords, as if they weren’t dangerous enough on their own. Oddly, Li only hit the ring, not Mei Ying.
Catanzaro would jump onto Li, and be flung into the corner. Carter got a tag and rushed in with a dropkick. Catanzaro & Carter made quick tags to overwhelm Li, who was fighting this on her own apparently. Li took control on the outside by driving Catanzaro into the corner, but back in the ring, Catanzaro countered a suplex into a small package and hit a twisting Lungblower.
Mei Ling Takes Out Kayden Carter
Carter would go mouth off to Mei Ling, and find herself getting choked out for her trouble. Ling blew some type of mist at Carter, and she passed out. Catanzaro & Li were both alone now, and Li hit a jumping knee strike and spin kick for the win.
Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro were easily destroyed tonight, but Mei Ling didn’t wrestle. She used a death grip and used some magic or drugs to take out Carter with ease. This adds yet another layer to Tian Sha, who are quickly becoming an issue on NXT. Will Tian Sha become NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions before long, with only Xia Li wrestling?
