The NXT record books now state that Jack Starz has a win over Joseph Conners. This is thanks to the Mixed Tag Team Match where Starz teamed with Piper Niven to defeat Conners & Jinny. Niven slammed Conners into the mat, before slamming Starz onto him for the win. This won’t do at all for Conners, and so tonight he looks to even their record as they meet one on one.
Starz won’t have Niven to fall back on tonight, and instead will simply have to beat Conners on his own. This is unlikely to happen, but you can’t count out Starz, who is an excellent underdog. Jinny & Niven were banned from ringside, making this a fair fight.
Jack Starz Shows Some Fire
Conners would start by grabbing wrist control, trying to control Starz early on. Starz slipped out, only to end up right back in the hold moments later. Conners once again lost control, before Starz used his speed to break free off the ropes.
Starz got a roll up for a two count, before bridging out of a pinfall attempt from Conners. He’d use his speed again before hitting some quick european uppercuts and a dropkick. Conners was sent to the outside, before Starz hit a slingshot plancha to the outside.
Back in the ring, Starz hit a big crossbody off the top rope, before looking for a toe & ankle hold on Conners. Conners shoved him off, before being driven into the corner. Starz got aggressive in the corner, and got stomped into the mat by both feet of Connners.
Joseph Conners Pulls Out The Win
Conners would corner Starz and hit some clubbing blows, before hitting a snap backbreaker. A Muta Lock style neckbreaker did some serious damage to the neck of Starz, but only got a near fall. Conners followed up with a short arm lariat, before Starz came back with a snap suplex.
Starz fired off some quick forearm blows and forced Conners to take a knee, but a shoulder tackle took him down fully. A running uppercut to the back and an exploder suplex got Starz a near fall, but Conners stayed in the fight. He’d slip past a backslide attempt and hit a snap DDT, before setting up the neckbreaker for the win.
