Teoman (f.k.a Lucky Kid & Metehan) is one of the big new signings for NXT UK. This 28 year old has won gold all across Europe, most recently being a WXW Shotgun Champion, and is a 12 year veteran. He’s gotten victories over the likes of Timothy Thatcher & Marcel Bartel in Germany.
Tonight, he makes his NXT UK debut in singles action against Danny Jones, a man who recently impressed against Joe Coffey and toured for AJPW. These are two tough as nails competitors, but only one can walk away with a win.
Teoman Makes Quick Work Against Danny Jones
Teoman would start up by grabbing a wrist lock on Jones. Jones would do his best to counter and get back to his feet, and was able to shove Teoman into the corner. Teoman nailed a hard chop to the neck of Jones, before sending him off the ropes and tripping him up. Jones got a boot to the back, before they’d trade strikes in the ring.
Teoman won out with a punch to the gut before nailing a running dropkick. He’d ask the referee to see if Jones was done, before applying a surfboard stretch. Jones countered out, hitting a rolling elbow and backstabber, before Teoman ran in and nailed a low dropkick. Teoman went to the top rope, and hit a missile dropkick aimed at the spine of Jones. Three quick double stomps to the back and a crossface would end this one.
This was as dominant of a debut as we’ve ever seen in NXT UK. Teoman came into NXT UK with a lot of hype, with his past as Lucky Kid very well regarded by many. He’s part of the same generation as NXT UK Champion WALTER & Ilja Dragunov, and we can expect to see him rise through the ranks quickly like they did.
