With WrestleMania only a couple of weeks away, WWE Raw Preview is set for a little of everything as storylines and matches continue to be put together as we get ready for the year’s top event.
One of those is a pretty cool one, though it’s more reminiscent of the 24/7 Championship chase than not.
Last week, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley offered a title shot to anyone on the mid card roster if they can take out Drew McIntyre prior to WrestleMania.
So, assuming there are anyone brave/stupid enough to try this, the next couple of seeks are going to be similar to everyone trying to pin R-Truth, except McIntyre will take them out with one shot.
One interesting thing that could come out of this is blurred line between who are the good and bad guys, not that a line really exists anymore.
Using the roster
While it can be argued that the WWE has plenty of talent on hand and they simply stick with their top stars, this could be an opportunity for one of the mid carders to make a big splash.
Underutilized wrestlers like Ricochet, Lucha House Party, and Drew Gulak could try to make a name for themselves here by going after McIntyre and make it interesting.
One that could stand out in this endeavor is Angel Garza, and since his previous storyline was dropped pretty quickly for whatever reason.
Another talent we haven’t heard of since the he was drafted to Smackdown is Aleister Black, and this would be a prefect time to him to make an appearance and make McIntyre’s life miserable.
It’s not like jumping from one brand to another is a big deal, as the WWE has shown they disregard their brand separation at will, and it can be argued they mainly use it for merchandising opportunity.
Or Sheamus could take another shot at McIntyre to get a chance at the belt.
Keith Lee is another possibility as he’s been absent lately for reported health concerns/
Whomever takes the shot won’t succeed, but they could put on a good enough performance to gain Vince McMahon’s eye and run with the opportunity.
Raw Women’s Championship Contract signing
Following Rhea Ripley’s main roster debut last week, we get to see her first main roster contract signing tonight as she and Asuka do the deed to make their WrestleMania match official.
This is a great opportunity to see Ripley further establish herself as the main threat to Asuka, but since there’s usually a twist we expect to see one.
Other challengers will probably come out and interrupt them, and WWE Raw Preview won’t be surprised if it’s the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.
Since the champs have a couple of feuds going on at the moment and Baszler and Asuka have had a recent back and forth it’d make sense for them to come out and cause a little stink.
It’ll end in a tag team match with Asuka and Ripley on the same team as we’ll get to see the recent feud between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair on Smackdown repeated for the Raw brand.
Rinse, repeat, and hang out to dry.
This should make for an interesting show. Who do you think will go after McIntyre? Let us know in the comments below.
