Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and it looks like we’re in for an interesting show in the aftermath of WWE Fastlane.
Will the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania become a triple threat with Roman Reigns, Edge, and Daniel Bryan?
We’ll start getting answers to this and other questions as we begin the final leg of the Road to WrestleMania.
WWE Smackdown Live Results will be back at the 8 p.m. EST showtime ready to buckle up for the ride.
Segment 1
Daniel Bryan came to the ring with a chair and pointed out how Reigns tapped out before Edge attacked him with a steel chair.
He’s tired of everyone getting a dream match they didn’t earn and demanded a rematch for the Universal title tonight and he refused to leave the ring until he gets his way.
Even if he gets a title shot, it’s going to end in a run in or something like that, but maybe they’ll be a twist.
On the plus side, Bryan’s speaking for the fans that would rather see him than what’s planned for WrestleMania.
Segment 2
Pearce came out and tried to talk Bryan down, saying he can’t give him a match. Bryan offered to face the winner right after their match but was told that wasn’t fair.
He then offered to face the winner on night 2 of WrestleMania, but Edge came out and told Bryan he doesn’t deserve a shot.
Bryan went after him and an unhinged Edge hit a spear then nailed Bryan with a steel chair.
Segment 3
Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
This started off fast with Nakamura taking control easy on, and quickly worked over Rollins on the apron with some knees as we headed to commercial.
Segment 4
This was a fun match that Rollins won with a Stomp.
He then went after Nakamura after the match, but Cesaro came out and beat Rollins down before Rollins ran off.
Segment 5
Big E and Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) and Apollo Crews
This was a fun match that broke down near the end as every tag match does, but Crews hit an Olympic Slam on Big E for the win.
Segment 6
The Kevin Owens Show with Sami Zayn
Zayn promised Owens he can be part of his documentary still, even apologizing for kicking him last week and went on about Logan Paul wanting to help him.
It took some time, but Owens challenged Zayn to a match at WrestleMania, and when Zayn said yes, Owen beat him down and hit a stunner to end the discussion.
Segment 7
Bianca Belair vs. Natalya w/Tamina
Belair started it off on fire, but Sasha Banks came out to distract her and Tamina hit Belair with a superkick while Natalya kept the ref busy before we headed to commercial.
Segment 8
This was a good match when we weren’t focused on Sasha Banks furthering her feud with Belair throughout.
Belair eventually won after hitting the KOD and Banks then hit her with the Backstabber.
Segment 9
Dolph Ziggler w/Robert Roode vs. Rey Mysterio w/Dominik Mysterio
This started off with Ziggler in control, the halt Rey’s offense when he caught his hurricanrana attempt on the floor and powerbombed him over the barricade.
Ziggler hit Dominik with a superkick as we headed to commercial.
Segment 10
This was a fun match that Rey won after hitting a 619 and splash over the ropes for the win. He survived a Famouoser and a Zigzag.
Segment 11
Adam Pearce announced the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania will be a triple threat match. No one saw that coming, right?
Bryan and Edge went after each other and Reigns hit a Superman Punch on Bryan. Edge hit two spears on Reigns and then beat both men with a chair until officials came out.
Despite the predictability of the triple threat match, it’s what they should’ve done given Bryan’s current push, and we expect him to win it by pinning Edge to keep Reigns strong.
We may alter that opinion over the next couple of weeks, so we’ll see.
Overall, this was a pretty good show and it’ll be interesting to see what they have in store for us the next two weeks before WrestleMania.
Let us know what you thought of it and which was your favorite match or segment. And as always, thank you for joining WWE Smackdown Live Results.
We had a great time and can’t wait to see you all next week. See you then!
