At Wrestlemania 37, we will once again see Randy Orton & Bray Wyatt meet at the showcase of the immortals. Last time, it was for the WWE Championship yet all fans remember were bugs being projected onto the mat of the ring, and Randy Orton’s snake down the entrance ramp that looked more like a giant sperm cell.
This time, they’re finishing up a heated feud which has included Orton burning Wyatt’s Fiend persona alive and wrestling Alexa Bliss and losing. It’s been a wild ride, so what can we expect at Wrestlemania this time around?
No More Chances To Hide Behind Careful Editing For Randy Orton & The Fiend
They have mostly focused on heavily edited segments and matches up until this point, taking full effect of what you can do with an empty arena like the WWE Thunderdome. They won’t be able to do that at Wrestlemania, as Raymond James Stadium will have actual live fans in attendance. It will finally be time for them to put their boots on and wrestle a normal match.
Obviously both Randy Orton & Bray Wyatt are talented wrestlers, but they’ve never shown much actual in-ring chemistry before now. They have had that one infamously bad Wrestlemania match, the ill fated House of Horrors match, and the fun but highly edited Firefly Inferno Match. This has hopes low, as after the final Monday Night RAW, it is a normal singles match.
It will also be the first match of The Fiend as his new more deranged version that is looking more like Kane than anything. The Fiend hasn’t had many good matches since taking on the gimmick, but Randy Orton is coming off one of his best in-ring years ever. We won’t be seeing a five star masterpiece here, but if they just focus on character work, hit their signature moves, and stay under fifteen minutes? It could be fun if nothing else.
