Last week in the chaotic main event of NXT, Dexter Lumis won in more ways than one. He was on the winning team, and also won the heart of Indi Hartwell. But I’m not Beth Phoenix and this isn’t WattPad, so that’s enough about InDex for now. Tonight, Lumis picks up where he left off with LA Knight, who he met in the Battle Royal before Takeover, and the gauntlet eliminator at Takeover. One man never talks, the other never shuts up, one only one will walk away with the win tonight.
LA Knight Needs A Big Win
Lumis would stare a hole through LA Knight, before locking up. Knight put him into the corner, but missed the strike and was thrown off the ropes. Lumis would be taken down with a shoulder tackle, and Knight got a Jackknife cover for a two count. Knight would talk some trash and almost get silenced, but slipped out before getting to the apron.
He’d hit the slingshot shoulder tackle, but Lumis would spook him with his creepy stare, and back him into the corner in the worst way. Knight crotched himself on the post, but was able to get back into the fight with a neckbreaker. Throughout a picture in picture break, Lumis would fail to regain control with a suplex, before Knight hit another neckbreaker and applied a rear chinlock.
Indi Hartwell Costs Dexter Lumis The Match
Coming back from the break, Lumis broke free and nailed a spinebuster to gain control. Some stiff right hands were followed by a bulldog and belly to back suplex, before Lumis sprung up into a leg drop. A slingshot suplex from Lumis got a near fall, before Knight rallied back and was thrown to the outside.
Lumis followed and was suckered into being thrown into the barricade. Knight would take an uppercut, before Lumis saw Indi Hartwell in the crowd. She almost tripped, but Hartwell was distracting him. Knight hit from behind, said that there is no way that she could be into a freak like Lumis. Lumis hit a vaulting body press, but was once again distracted and hit with a cutter through the ropes by Knight for the finish.
After the match, Hartwell got onto the apron for a kiss, before The Way pulled her away like a toddler taking a tantrum. Where does InDex go from here? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
