Tonight is the first night of NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver, and we have a pre-show match to get things started! Zoey Stark is a promising young name in NXT, having already had big matches with Io Shirai, Dakota Kai and more. She makes her Takeover debut tonight after Toni Storm, who challenged unsuccessfully for the NXT Women’s Championship at the last takeover. Storm won’t be happy with being relegated to the preshow, so Stark will have to watch out tonight.

Zoey Stark Is Ready For Big Matches

This crowd was firmly behind Stark, who locked up hard with Storm to end up in a stalemate. A second lock up saw her take Storm to the mat with a headlock, before having her hair yanked and getting put into a headscissor. Stark wasn’t able to free herself due to more yanks to the hair, but would fight back to her feet.

She shoved Storm off the ropes, and hit a shoulder tackle before blocking a kick. Storm was twisted into a rolling elbow, before Stark hit some strikes. Stark hit a springboard dropkick sending Storm across the ring, but Stark charged in and missed. She’d be stranded on the middle rope, and yanked to the floor.

Storm applied a neck crank before Stark slipped into a pinfall for a two count. Stark wouldn’t maintain control, and Storm was able to launch off a snap suplex for a two count of her own. Storm applied a single leg crab, but Stark was able to fight out.

    Toni Storm Digs Deep

Stark drove Storm into the corner, before Storm was able to fight out with some strikes. Some chops came back from Stark, before Storm just picked her up to slam her down. Storm went to the top rope but hesitated, and Stark was able to creep in and grab Storm for a superplex.

Stark followed up with a series of kicks to set up the Knee Trembler, but Storm dodged and went for the German Suplex. Storm was blocked and Stark hit a suplex of her own, before nailing the knee trembler. She’d tried for the pinfall twice, but only got two both times.

Storm hit a Electric Chair facebuster for the two count, and it was becoming clear they’d need to dig deep and start going for finishers. Stark was able to block the Storm Zero attempt, and hit a superkick for a near fall. Storm came back with two German Suplexes before hooking in Storm Zero. Stark countered and got the small package for the win! This is the biggest win of the career of Zoey Stark, and a sign of things to come.

Will Zoey Stark become NXT Women’s Champion in due time? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
