607 Days. That is how long Kay Lee Ray has been at the top of the NXT UK Women’s division. While some of that time is explained by the COVID-19 shutdown of the brand, she has been taking on all comers since NXT UK returned, and no one has been able to stop her yet. Not even a name like Meiko Satomura has been able to end her reign. Now with a new ally in fellow Scot Isla Dawn, Kay Lee Ray will address the NXT UK Women’s division, and hopefully find her next challenger.
Sid Scalla Does A Sub-Par Job Hyping Kay Lee Ray Up
Assistant to the NXT UK General Manager Sid Scalla would introduce Kay Lee Ray down to the ring, saying she’s a champion unlike we’ve ever seen before, and the longest reigning NXT UK Women’s Champion ever. She’d say that Scalla did good, but can do better. She’s the longest reigning womens champion in WWE today, and no one can beat them.
Scalla is the match maker, and he’s put Piper Niven, Jinny & Meiko Satomura against her, but she’s taken all of them down. Kay Lee Ray wants him to get to the point, and knows that Scalla didn’t call her out to praise her. With the NXT UK Women’s division more stacked than ever, he’s giving five women a chance.
Incoming Gauntlet Match For #1 Contender Status
It will be a gauntlet match, and the last woman standing will be the next opponent of Kay Lee Ray in a title match. Those five women are Jinny, Isla Dawn, Xia Brookside, Dani Luna and Emilia MacKenzie. More than just setting up a gauntlet match, this gives some serious insight into who NXT UK’s top names in the women’s division are.
Jinny is the only proven champion of the group, while the rest have been slowly reaching this level both in NXT UK and elsewhere. Kay Lee Ray was thrilled by this, but let them all know that none of them are good enough to beat the forerver champion.
