Right now, All Elite Wrestling only has one major TV show in Dynamite. Ever since it proved to be a resounding success, there have long been rumors of ‘the third hour’ of Dynamite. These have come from Tony Khan, Cody Rhodes and more. However, one recent announcement and a coming event from WarnerMedia, could finally show that this is coming.
AEW on TNT Taping Noted In Touring Announcement
Earlier today, we saw an announcement from AEW that they are taking Dynamite back on the road again for the first time in over a year. They will be holding shows in Miami, Dallas & Austin, as well as gave dates for a rescheduled show in St. Louis. With this particular show, there was an extra note of an AEW on TNT taping attached.
This clearly isn’t AEW Dynamite, as they would have outright said this. AEW Dark used to be taped after Dynamite when they toured the United States, but that show wasn’t ever aired on TNT. This seems to point towards a new show for TNT, something along the lines of the Late Night Dynamite from September 2020.
On Wednesday May 19th during WarnerMedia upfront, we could see this show formally announced. With AEW going back on tour, it could be a taped one hour show that comes along with the show, but will have to wait and see.
No, AEW Dynamite Isn’t Turning Into A Three Hour Show
AEW has confused some folks with calling this new show the ‘third hour’ of programming, but it does not mean that AEW Dynamite is going the way of Monday Night RAW and becoming three hours. They’ve always tried their best to tell people that it has always been planned to be an extra show on TNT.
Three hours has proven to be a poor weekly format for professional wrestling, except for getting extra advertisements in the mix. Monday Night RAW even on a good week is a hard show to get through, and AEW is doing their best to stand out from WWE in these ways.
