On AEW Dark, just under a week before Double or Nothing. A tag team might have just broken up. This week’s episode of AEW Dark, a match between Sonny Kiss and Brian Cage, didn’t end well for Sonny Kiss.
Bryan Cage got the win, but soon after, both Hook and Cage (members of team Taz) attacked Sonny Kiss, which ended with Joey Janela looking like he would come out to save his tag team partner. Joey Janela didn’t end up getting in the ring and decided to hold back and decided not to help his teammate and walked out of the ring.
Is Joey Janela turning heel?
Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela have been a tag team since March 2020, and since then, they haven’t had many noticeable wins under their belt. They also haven’t appeared on the weekly Dynamite show in some time. Joey Janela looked like he was going to walk down the heel side of the entrances in AEW.
Seemingly teasing that Joey may be becoming a more heelish character down the line. Hopefully, this change for both Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela will get them more time on the main show. With a very stacked tag team roster, there’s no surprise that this team fell through the cracks.

AEW Dynamite takes place on Friday the 28th, changing from its usual schedule of Wednesday night shows. It is also a PPV weekend with Double or Nothing on Sunday the 30th. The highly anticipated PPV will have PAC VS Orange Kassidy, VS Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks VS John Moxley and Eddie Kingston, two matches you don’t want to miss.
