We’re quickly approaching AEW’s next PPV event, Double or Nothing. We have a stacked card in store, one that has three potential headline matches, but only one match has a mystery entrant to speculate about. As usual we have a mystery entrant in the battle royale on the show. At AEW Revolution 2021 there was no mystery entrant in the Tag Team Battle Royale, instead using that spot in the ladder match with Ethan Page making his debut. But at Double or Nothing, someone will likely make their debut during the casino battle royale, who could it be?
Daniel Bryan Is Still An Option Following WWE Exit Last Month
Right now, Daniel Bryan is a free agent following an exit from WWE last month. His contract expired, meaning no ninety day hold period like we see when someone is released from WWE. We haven’t heard much from Bryan since then, and despite him being named in the main event of Backlash 2021 by both commentary and Roman Reigns, there has been no word of him re-signing with WWE.
If AEW were going to roll out a game changing signing like Daniel Bryan, they were always going to wait for a packed crowd. At Double or Nothing, they will be running Daily’s Place at 100% capacity, making it a fine time to unveil Bryan if he signed with them following his WWE exit.
Impact Wrestling Starts Their Invasion
However, since Bryan is far from confirmed, there are still plenty of other options for the wild card. Right now, AEW & Impact Wrestling have a working relationship. With the winner of the Casino Battle Royale getting a shot at the AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, who is also the Impact Wrestling World Champion? It wouldn’t be hard to see someone from Impact make their way into the match.
Chris Bey expressed interest in wrestling Christian Cage, who is involved in the match which could make him an option. Other names like Eddie Edwards, Chris Sabin Moose, Sami Callihan and Rich Swann are options as well, and while they wouldn’t get as big a reaction from the crowd as Daniel Bryan, they’re easier for AEW to bring in.
The Confirmed Names For The Match
While we don’t know the wild card entrant who will come in last, we do know the rest of the field for the Casino Battle Royale. The following names have been confirmed across Twitter and AEW programming. Matt Hardy, Christian Cage, Dustin Rhodes, Colt Cabana, Matt Sydal, Evil Uno, The Blade, Stu Grayson, QT Marshall, Penta El Zero Miedo, Powerhouse Hobbs, Anthony Bowens, Marq Quen, Jungle Boy, Isiah Kassidy, Nick Comoroto, Griff Garrison, Max Caster, Brian Pillman Jr., Ten & Lee Johnson are all confirmed.
