Next week – the AEW International Champion Rey Fenix will be putting his belt on the line for AEW Dynamites Fourth Anniversary show.

Three top stars were drawn from a hat – and it’s Nick Jackson, Brian Cage, and former ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli. All three men would love a shot at singles glory – and tonight is their chance.

Nick Jackson Works Smart And Hard For First Singles Title Shot In AEW

Jackson went after Cage as the match began, and was tossed from the ring with ease. The two powerhouses would meet in the ring, and Cage hit a vertical suplex.

Castagnoli would find his footing and throw some uppercuts – trading blows. Jackson would use his speed and sent both opponents to the floor before a springboard senton bomb.

Keeping sly in the ring, Jackson would press his advantage – before Castagnoli hit the uppercut before a military press. A lariat would keep Jackson down while Castagnoli would return to Cage on the floor – and be thrown into the barricade.

Jackson would climb to the top rope with intent to dive on Cage, before Castagnoli shoved him – and Cage caught him with a suplex.

Jackson hit a crossbody on Cage, before Castagnoli came off the top rope onto Jackson before the Gutwrench Suplex on Cage.

Castagnoli was sent from the ring with a superkick, before Jackson hit a 450 Splash for a two count on Cage. Cage was set up for the giant swing – and was nearly pinned afterwards by Castagnoli.

Jackson sent Castagnoli to the floor, before jumping into an F5 from Cage for a two count. Cage would pull Castagnoli back into the ring with a suplex before another near fall.

Castagoli would hit the Hammer & Anvil elbows – before the Ricola Bomb landed. Jackson would send Castagnoli from the ring with a hurricanrana – and pinned Cage for the win.

Adam Cole Has A Broken Ankle

MJF & Adam Cole are ready for their next challenge as ROH World Tag Team Championships, after The Righteous would earn the shot in a Fatal Four Way tag team match on AEW Rampage.

This match goes down at AEW WrestleDream this weekend – and tonight, we are set to hear from Better Than You BayBay after their fishing trip in Long Island.

Cole would come to the ring with crutches – after landing awkward when rushing to the ring last week to help MJF against Samoa Joe. MJF got Cole a chair to sit in, and Cole had a story to tell.

His ankle is broke in three places, and he will need surgery. There is nothing more soul crushing than this – but Cole is going to be back as soon as he can be.

Cole would be ready to relinquish the belts – but MJF is not letting this happen. The belts will be waiting for him when Cole returns – because MJF will defend them himself.

Roderick Strong was rolled out to ramp – and would call Cole away from the ring. MJF let him go, because Strong is his boy.

MJF’s Next Challenger Steps Up To The Plate

Jay White would come to the ring once MJF was alone. White had a microphone, and sent Bullet Club Gold to the back.

Staring down MJF like so many have before – White said that everyone has heard MJF talk so much, so it’s time for something different. White would say that MJF has been waiting for this moment – but MJF looked like he didn’t know who he was looking it.

When you come for MJF – you don’t hold back, especially when you have pubic hair glued to your chin like White does.

MJF is used to being compared to other wrestlers, and it’s never bothered him until someone dared to compare him to White. While there is no denying the skills of White – he’s lacking spice.

White is like tofu, being given all the chance to absorb so much spice – given the looks, nickname, training, chances – and the keys to the biggest faction in the world.

MJF would say that White is simply the idea of a boneheaded CEO’s top guy – while he’s the real deal. White is good, but he’s just no MJF.

However – MJF is just playing into what White wanted – his own MJF roast. White would run down his resume, that he is ready to add the AEW World Championship to this list. It’s still his era – and MJF’s time is coming to an end.
