Right now, it’s hard to see much praise for the long running WWE program “Monday Night RAW”. It’s a rather cumbersome three hour program, but there have been a few bright spots right now. Aside from Bobby Lashley as WWE Champion, the odd couple tag team of Riddle & Randy Orton has been making waves in the division. While at first it felt like a short term team that could set up a PPV match for a show like Wrestlemania: Backlash, WWE seems to be planning to keep RK-Bro around longterm.
RK-Bro To Stick Around Long Term In WWE
With the report coming from PWInsider, The alliance between Randy Orton & Riddle is not expected to be a short term deal. They will be getting a sizable push, and merchandise is in the works. While some are getting Y2AJ vibes from this situation, the partnership makes sense. Riddle is at his best with someone to play the straight man to him, just look at his run with Pete Dunne in NXT as The Broserweights.
If this team is able to capture that same energy, fans will just become even bigger fans of this group. It could really help establish Riddle as a major player in WWE, especially if after a year or two of teaming, he’s able to beat Randy Orton in a breakup feud. Plus, there’s not many other ways to keep Orton on TV at this point.
Is There Anything Better For Randy Orton To Do At This Point?
The issue with Randy Orton at this point in WWE is simple. What do you do with a man who has already done everything? He’s a 14 time world champion, has won both the IC & US championships, and even some tag team championships. Orton has been a constant presence in WWE for nearly two decades, due to him starting his career at a young age.
Sticking this aged Orton with an upstart like Riddle in a tag team is a solid way to keep him on TV in a fresh way. No one wants to see Orton in top level singles feuds all the time, but fans do still want to see Orton. His feud with The Fiend did this in an odd way, but teaming with Riddle makes for better matches and TV than whatever that feud was.
