Ever since losing the NXT UK Tag Team Championships, Gallus has been looking to prove they still belong on top of NXT UK. One way to do that, is to get wins over major names. Likewise, Rampage Brown is looking to get back in the mix after a major loss to NXT UK Champion WALTER. Tonight Wolfgang clashes with Brown, and whoever wins will get a step closer to the top of the card.
Wolfgang Takes Rampage Brown To His Limits
Wolfgang chose to send Mark & Joe Coffey to the back and face Rampage on his own, making sure this fight is fair. They’d lock up in the middle of the ring, with Wolfgang grabbing a cravat and going for a snapmare. Rampage blocked and got a cravat of his own, before sending Wolfgang off the ropes for a dropkick.
Wolfgang came back with a dropkick of his own, before whipping him hard into the corner. Rampage dodged a crossbody in the corner, and Wolfgang slipped to the outside. They’d brawl on the outside with some strike, before Wolfgang took Rampage onto his shoulders and drove him into the corner post.
Back in the ring, Wolfgang nailed a big backbreaker for a two count, before looking for a cobra twist on the mat. He’d have to opt for a body scissor instead, and suck the air and energy out of Rampage. Rampage drove his elbow into the knee joint of Wolfgang to break the hold, but would be dropped with a headbutt to the midsection and a middle rope splash to the back.
Wolfgang went for a scoop slam, but Rampage slipped out and hit a back body drop to get some space. He was having issues with catching his breath, and a huge spear into a spinebuster didn’t help. Wolfgang went for a cobra twist, but Rampage was able to block into a hip toss but couldn’t follow up.
Rampage blocked a spear with a knee strike, before throwing Wolfgang into the corner post. A big lariat dropped Wolfgang, and Rampage would use the rest of his power to hit a desperate doctor bomb for the win.
Considering this was the first singles match from Wolfgang in two years, he did a fine job. NXT UK has done a good job building up Rampage Brown as someone who can go deep into a fight and slip out a win. It was a good hard hitting match from both men, which showed they’re potential top stars. Match Rating: 3.25/5 (*** 1/4)
