WWE Raw Preview has a good feeling that we’re in for a fun episode tonight, assuming we’re past the copy and past storytelling the last few weeks.
We’re going to get some fun matches as well as a gimmick one and the Miz returning.
Let’s dive into the fun.
Drew McIntyre faces Kofi Kingston once more
After Bobby Lashley interfered in their match last week, Adam Pearce granted them a rematch this week where the winner will determine Bobby Lashley’s challenger at Hell in a Cell.
While Lashley only became involved because he was at ring side and was run into, we blame WWE Creative as they do that every week.
It’s beyond tired, but with any luck they’ll ban Lashley and MVP from ringside this week.
McIntyre and Kingston are sure to give us a great match, but we doubt Lashley or even Braun Strowman will stay out of this and we’ll get another scrum finish.
Next week we’ll get a triple threat between McIntyre, Kingston, and Strowman or the powers-that-be will make it a triple threat of fatal 4 way at HIAC because they can’t get enough of gimmick matches.
Shayna Baszler wants to teach Reginald a lesson
Baszler hasn’t been a fan of Reginald since he joined them, well, Nia Jax, to be honest, but things have come to a head after he’s helped cost them matches the last two weeks.
While it can be argued he’s been the focus of mysterious attacks (we all know it’s Alexa Bliss and it’s to help Tamina and Natalya), him being injured has allegedly distracted Baszler and Jax into losing.
So, we get a mixed gender match that’ll follow the recent blueprint where Reginald won’t lay a hand on Baszler unless it’s accidental and avoid most of Baszler’s attacks before she finally gets ahold of him.
We expect Jax to intervene on his behalf, and a feud between Baszler and Jax to begin in short order.
The Miz returns to host Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley on Miz TV
After suffering a serious injury that’ll keep him sidelined for roughly 9 months at Backlash (thanks, zombies), the Miz will return tonight as he and John Morrison hold a special edition of Miz TV.
Their guests will Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley and her HIAC opponent Charlotte Flair.
As usual, we expect Miz and Morrison to amp up what’s already a tense rivalry, which will probably bring someone else into the mix for an impromptu match tonight.
Raw Tag Team Championship – AJ Styles and Omos (c) vs. Elias and Jaxson Ryker
This has been a fun feud lately as Elias and Ryker have tried to single out Styles to get their title shot, and now that they have it, we’re looking forward to seeing how they’ll deal with Omos.
While this may not be the match of the night material, we expect it to be a fun one and possibly one of the best of the night since this is probably the only one where there probably won’t be any interference.
Randy Orton vs. Xavier Woods
After being absent last week, Randy Orton will be in action against Xavier Woods.
Last week, Woods faced Orton’s new bestie Riddle, and Riddle paid homage to him by hitting an unexpected RKO for the win.
Now, Woods will be looking to even the scores when he faces the Viper, and we expect Orton to win this match if it remains one on one
The WWE has fallen in love with “surprise” rollup wins several times a night, so we won’t be surprised if Woods pulls the win out of nowhere.
The most likely possibility is Woods will do something to rile Riddle, and either Riddle will take a cheap shot on Woods to help Orton or he’ll jump Woods after his surprise win.
