According to @leakedwrestling, Finn Balor has a good future ahead of him in the WWE as he’s in demand for two brands, but will likely stay with NXT.
Rumors started swirling following Balor’s loss to Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship that he was going to appear on one of the main brands, Raw or Smackdown.
This makes sense as losing a top match often signals a change of scenery, just like had Kross lost we’d be talking about which main brand he’d be going to.
Main brand demand
Balor is a top talent in the WWE, and there are reports that claim Raw’s creative team wants Balor and have been asking for him for months. Given the state of Raw in general, that’s no a surprise.
Both main brands badly need an infusion of fresh talent, but Raw more so.
The problem with Balor going back to the main brands is NXT apparently has plans for him as well, and it’ll come down to whether Raw’s creative intends a big push for him or not.
Or Vince McMahon simply deciding he wants him back on the main roster. He has the final say on everything, and in the end it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone but him why he does something.
With that being said, we’re curious what the plans for Balor are in NXT. As the Prince, he’s settled himself into a cool niche as the top heel and his match against Kross went down to the wire.
It became an instant classic and helped put Kross over even more than he already was, and it only helped Finn Balor shine more as well.
It’s how wrestling is supposed to work as they tell us a story instead of spot festing us to boredom.
Don’t want to waste talent
The feeling for us is that if Balor’s called up to the main roster just to fill a spot will waste his talent and time, not to mention the fans’.
Balor needs to be in title consideration on some level, and with the main brands pushing more of the younger talent in the mid card level, that means he’d have to find a partner or go for the top title.
Will that happen? It could, but we don’t really see it happening given how Raw is now built around the giants that are Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and Braun Strowman.
What do you think? Should Balor stay in NXT or go to the main brands?
