Finn Balor has given us a great ride during his WWE career, and after returning to NXT 17 months ago as The Prince, he’s left a lot of fans wondering if we’ll ever see his demon persona again.
This is something that’s picked up steam over the last year with Bray Wyatt’s The Fiend becoming arguably the most popular WWE Superstar as fans want to see the two square off.
Like The Fiend is to Bray Wyatt, the Demon comes out when Balor feels he has no choice and needs to focus all of his power and skill into a solitary event.
And since he was the Fiend’s first victim, it’s only right we get to see them square off once again. Or maybe a few times.
While there’s no doubt that’ll be a feud and matches that’ll be worth tuning in to see regularly, there’s been nothing coming out to give us more than hope one way or another.
Until now.
On returning one day
While on Ryan Satin’s “Out of Character” podcast, Balor spoke about this. Special thanks to @leakedwrestling for both transcripts of Balor’s interview.
“Absolutely, absolutely. I grew up as a wrestling fan watching WWE, and that’s essentially where I want to be performing. I feel like in my last run there I wasn’t doing myself justice and needed to change something. The change was NXT and I needed to figure out who I was again, and I managed to do that to some level, and I am definitely hopeful that a return to RAW or SmackDown will happen in the future.”
This is great news to fans of the main brands, but it’ll be a tough blow to NXT when it happens.
Finn Balor hasn’t appeared as the Demon since he defeated Andrade at WWE Super Showdown in 2019, but in another segment, he talked about the Demon and whether we’ll see his other persona again.
The Demon returning
“There’s still some life left in The Demon character, for sure. Right now, I’m very happy being The Prince. I feel like, as I said before, this is the most like my true self in my WWE tenure, so I’m very happy.”
This is great to hear and know that he’s so protective of the Demon. There have been plenty of rumors that he didn’t want to appear as the Demon too often of it’s lose its appeal and he was right.
Now, nearly two years since the Demon’s last appearance, he’s giving us a hint of what we want and will hopefully see at some point in the near future in a WWE Ring.
