As weird as it sounds, Brock Lesnar is currently a free agent in professional wrestling. He mutually split with them in 2020 after dropping the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania. Since then, he’s barely even been mentioned in WWE. Paul Heyman has moved onto a new client in Roman Reigns, and Reigns has taken on the ‘Final Boss’ role that Lesnar long held. However, it’s time for The Beast Incarnate to return to WWE, as reports seem to indicate.
Brock Lesnar Is Set To Return Soon?
According to The Mat Men playlist, Brock Lesnar is expected to return to WWE around Summerslam. “Lesnar was early on for SummerSlam plans, they were trying to do something. I think the concept behind Lesnar is to justify what we’re gonna pay him and we need a more consistent touring schedule so we can build to this and those appearances by Lesnar will help sell tickets, obviously.” Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast would say.
Lesnar is one of the biggest draws that WWE has these days, and with ratings down and plans to get on the road in motion, they’ll need names like him to get fans interested again. However, what could Lesnar be doing at the event?
Three Potential Matches
There are three easy matches to set up for Lesnar at Summerslam. First up is facing Roman Reigns. With Paul Heyman linked to Reigns, adding Lesnar into that mix would give some very interesting storyline potential, as Heyman would have to choose his past client, or the Tribal Chief.
Another good option comes in WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. Fans have wanted to see this match for years now, and with Lashley finally on top of WWE as the current WWE Champion, now would be as good of a time as any for this match.
Finally, there is the rematch of Drew McIntyre & Brock Lesnar. Lesnar was last seen in the ring with McIntyre, and is not someone who takes a loss lightly. Both Reigns & Lashley are current world champions, and if WWE is looking to keep Lesnar out of the title mix right away, this would be the way to do it.
