Jupiter’s Legacy, at first, looked to be the next big TV show to appear on Netflix that ended on a huge cliffhanger. It had a massive budget of 200 million dollars. A whole bunch of different superheroes and villains doing what villains and heroes do. After watching the series, it was disappointing and after just one season, has been cancelled.
Netflix has recently bought the rights to the whole universe of Jupiter’s Legacy. We are getting another show; Supercrooks that focuses on another comic book series called Supercrooks that look at a different group but this time they’re villains. However, why have Netflix ditched Jupiter’s Legacy for Supercrooks?
Too big of a budget
Well, the budget is officially one of the reasons why the TV show has been cancelled, a 200 million dollars production for a TV show that has a lot less quality than a lot of other Superhero TV shows.
The whole series felt like it should have been at least half of the 200 million dollars mark to produce. A show like the Flash, costs 50 million dollars. The push to have a superhero or villain do super stuff that dont look super.
It feels like 200 million dollars on something that pales in comparison to other superhero TV shows is one of the main reasons why this show has been cancelled. It looks like Netflix isn’t trying to do this again by making the next series set in the same universe as an anime series.
Terrible choice
Watching the whole series, it’s obvious that there are so many issues here. I haven’t read the comics but the storylines pacing in a TV Show was very poor. Maybe the transition from comics to TV show hasn’t gone smoothly. The whole series kind of felt like a pilot.
Should have been split right down the middle…
The whole series has been split into the past and present. How this is shown in the TV show is terrible with it changing from different screen sizes every time. This then destroys any immersion every time it goes into a different time period.
It feels like these episodes should have been split with one set in the present and then one set in the past. The show should have 24 episodes.
