Nikki Bella has praised her ex-fiance, John Cena, despite their well-publicised break-up that shook wrestling fans worldwide.

The duo seemed destined to be together, as shown by John’s boldness in proposing to Nikki inside the wrestling ring. While all the signs looked to be promising, John decided to call things off as he suffered the old case of getting cold feet. And yet, she still praised John for how he was able to mould her to become one of the best wrestlers in the game.
And it was all capped off during Nikki’s induction to the WWE Hall of Fame. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Nikii said: “I look at my career, and I know that wasn’t just because of me. It was Brie [Bella], it was the Bella army, it was the producers, all the people that believed in me, and John was a big part of that.”
Nikki, for her part, has now moved on with Dancing with the Stars’ Artem Chigvintsev. The duo got engaged in 2019 and have a son together. Despite the heartbreak that Nikki went through, the experience taught her that she could overcome anything.
After all, if she could recover from showcasing her engagement to the whole world knowing that it would fail and still bounce back, then anything was possible. And she thanked John’s role in that. She added: “He really helped me be that fearless side and showed me a part of that world that I never saw before.”
The pair have continued to remain on good terms. Nikki opened up on how John reached out to her and Brie Bella after giving birth to their respective babies. There was no obligation on John to do that, but given the close bond that they continue to have, it only goes on to show that not all break-ups end up being bitter.
She continued: “I think just because you have break-ups or whatever it may be, doesn’t mean you can’t thank those people and just truly be so grateful for the help that they had.” John and Nikki will always be favourites amongst the wrestling fan base, and it will be fascinating to see whether they ever have any further collaborations.
