WWE shocked the world earlier today when they released someone who was viewed as one of their top stars. In 90 days, Braun Strowman will be a free agent. Strowman is a former WWE Universal, Intercontinental & RAW Tag Team Champion, and is one of the few men in wrestling history with a clean win over the legendary Goldberg.
We last saw him in the ring at Wrestlemania: Backlash, where he challenged for the WWE Championship in a Triple Threat match. With Strowman leaving WWE on the top of his game, what could the future hold for him?
AEW Could Use The Monster Among Men To Great Effect
It’s been a while, but back in 2017 when Strowman was on the rise, he was one of if not the most popular stars in all of WWE. He was putting in solid performances in the ring, and flipping ambulances backstage. The only thing that held him back was inconsistent booking, and that is something which is much less common in AEW.
AEW tends to focus on the strengths of their performers, and considering how much Strowman improved in the ring over the past year, he could easily fit into the AEW roster. Matches with the likes of Kenny Omega & Lance Archer would showcase just how good Strowman is, and they’d be fools to not make an offer.
Braun Strowman Would Be A Spectacle In New Japan Pro Wrestling
When you look at the history of foreign talent who were able to get over in a big way in Japan, there is a general trend. Usually they’re big, mean, and heavy hitters. Names like Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, and Vader all come to mind. As proven in matches with Shinsuke Nakamura, Strowman is able to wrestle a very physical style, and could fit into the unfilled hole that was left by Lance Archer in NJPW.
While he might not be able to go overseas and put on 45 minute epics with Kazuchika Okada, Strowman has the potential to become a majorly popular name in NJPW. He would also be able to showcase skills that we might have never seen in his WWE run. Really, Strowman is the type of name who could fit into any roster in professional wrestling.
