At NXT Takeover: In Your House, LA Knight was able to defeat Cameron Grimes in a ladder match to become the Million Dollar Champion. Tonight, Ted DiBiase will properly coronate Knight as the heir to the Million Dollar legacy, something which Cameron Grimes is sure to be sad watching. Neither man came out without the respect of DiBiase, but only one man gets the hardware.
LA Knight Was A Ted DiBiase Superfan
Ted DiBiase would be the first one down to the ring, enjoying another great reaction from the fans in the Capitol Wrestling Center. He claimed that at Takeover, he saw someone worthy of taking over his legacy. We’d see a hype package for Knight, including footage of Grimes’ terrifying ladder bump that handed him the win.
Knight would hit the arena, cigar in mouth to be announced as the new Million Dollar Champion to his delight. He wanted the championship around his waist, but first wanted to talk with DiBiase. Knight would say it’s not often you get to meet your heroes, and even less often you share the ring with them.
Ted DiBiase Gets Saved By Cameron Grimes
He’s banged up and hurt, but to stand with DiBiase and be Million Dollar Champion? It’s all worth it. The crowd started a ‘We Want Cameron’ chant as Knight explained he was always a huge fan. He just wanted to say thank you, and called it the greatest moment in his career. Now, DiBiase just needs to crown him as Million Dollar Champion and the belt went over his shoulder as the pyro started spraying.
Knight now has everything he wants, and can drop what he doesn’t need. He’d attack DiBiase with a lariat and kick the security away, before claiming to be the only true Million Dollar Champion. Knight stomped the legend, and Grimes made the save. He’d send Knight running for the hills with a lariat, before checking on DiBiase.
This angle still has a lot of life left in it, and Grimes is quickly becoming one of the most popular names in NXT due to it. Will Grimes take the Million Dollar Championship from Knight? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
