Despite not having any championship gold or big wins under their belts, Jimmy & Joseph Conners still see themselves above a group like Subculture. They’re high class, while Subculture are working class punks. After Conners was able to get a singles win over Flash Morgan Webster, their verbal abuse backstage only got worse.
Tonight, Webster teams with Dani Luna to take them both out in mixed tag team action. The NXT Tag Team Champions are on commentary for this match, Pretty Deadly again proving to be multi-talented.
Jinny & Joseph Conners Need To Regroup
Webster & Conners would start this match, with Webster hitting an imploding arm drag before taking a knee to the stomach. A roll up got Webster a two count, before he hit a dropkick and tagged in Dani Luna. Luna would have been fine fighting Conners, but Jinny had to tag in.
The Fashinoista would tag in, and be thrown around with exploder suplexes, before Conners rushed in and was dropped by a kick from Webster. Luna would launch Webster with a back suplex, with him landing on Conners with a moonsault. Jinny & Conners regrouped on the outside, before Jinny used the hair of Luna to slam her head off the mat.
On commentary, Pretty Deadly made a direct shot at Webster & Andrews, with them being the shortest reigning champions in NXT UK history, a reign of just 34 days. In the ring, Jinny applied an octopus stretch on Luna in the middle of the ring, but Luna fought free and suplexed Jinny to tag in Webster.
Flash Morgan Webster Takes To The Sky
Webster hit a dropkick and moonsault, before sending Conners to the outside. He’d tag in Luna, who helped send Webster to the outside with a back body drop. Back in the ring, Luna nailed some gutwrench suplexes, before a deadlift suplex and a big lariat for a two count. Conners & Webster got in the ring, and Jinny punched Webster and Luna tried to slam Conners but instead threw him out of the ring.
Jinny would nail a snap DDT on Luna, getting a two count. Webster & Conners became legal, with Conners hitting a snap backbreaker, and going for a suplex, before Webster got a European Clutch. Conners shoved him off and into a kick from Jinny, before rolling Webster up for a two count.
Webster got a forearm shot and went up top, and Jinny was driven into the ring by Luna. The referee was distracted as Conners looked for a superplex, and Luna powerbombed him down before Webster hit a 630 Senton for the win.
The best match on this show, but that wasn’t hard. Webster & Luna showed some basic chemistry, and the action was slick. Mixed tag team matches are never the best due to an odd ruleset, but this one finished strong. Match Rating: 2.75/5 (** 3/4)
