We’ve seen Cesaro finally get the push he deserves when he challenged Roman Reigns only to be sidetracked into a feud with Seth Rollins.
With Rollins counter of the swing into a rollup, it probably signaled the end to this feud and the 50/50 booking the WWE loves to use religiously.
But is it the right thing and what’s next for Cesaro?
With rumors running rampant that John Cena will challenge Reigns at SummerSlam, it doesn’t leave much room for Cesaro to step back into action against Reigns.
So, this means he’s most likely going to continue working with Rollins, which we doubt if the news of Rollins and Edge wrestling at SummerSlam are legit, going back to a tag team, or taking on a new challenge.

Intercontinental Championship run
We don’t see Cesaro going back to the tag division while his partner Shinsuke Nakamura is getting his own push as the new king, so that leaves the Intercontinental Championship.
With Kevin Owens taking time off, it leaves Big E and Sami Zayn floating around waiting for a chance to defeat Apollo Crews.
This would be a good fit for Cesaro as he has a history with Zayn and they’ve been at odds since Cesaro and Nakamura turned face.
It’d also give someone for Zayn to focus his conspiracy and ungrateful accusations on since he does feel Cesaro and Nakamura betrayed him.
It’ll open up plenty of possible storylines going forward, and Cesaro could be the one to finally defeat or neutralize Commander Azeez, which would allow Big E to get to Crews.
Assuming it’ll be a triple threat or fatal 4 way the WWE loves throwing out regularly, this could open the door for Cesaro to slip in and really steam Zayn by stealing his win.
Or better yet, pinning Zayn to win the Intercontinental title.
Other challenges
There are plenty of routes they could take, but we don’t see him not getting involved with a championship in some way.
While we’d live to see Cesaro as WWE Champion and think he deserves it, we’ll be happy for him to be Intercontinental champion and carry it with respect and dignity it deserves.
