As AEW gets back on the road and into their old touring routine, it is time for them to really start locking their roster down. While it seems like the AEW roster has grown immensely over the past 18 months, that simply isn’t the full story. A lot of the names featured over that time weren’t on full contracts, but now those that have shined the brightest are getting signed up. Starting with a promising tag team consisting of Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison, The Varsity Blondes.

The Varsity Blondes Are Now All Elite

This signing was only a matter of time. We recently got a report that Brian Pillman Jr. had finally gotten his release from his contract with Major League Wrestling. Pillman Jr. had been trying to get out of that contract since the start of the pandemic, and has finally been able to get out. He was not part of their recent tapings, and was reported to be full time with AEW.

It was assumed that we would see the “Varsity Blondes Are All Elite” graphic a few days later as details with both Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison were ironed out. Now, both men are officially on the long-term AEW roster. This isn’t a shock, as they have been given proper main event spotlight when they challenged The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championships on episode #87 of AEW Dynamite.

Will Julia Hart Be Signed As Well?

Not shown in the graphic is their recent manager Julia Hart. Hart has been a recent addition to AEW as a whole, having been around since April of this year. She’s been wrestling mainly on AEW Dark, where she’s gotten wins over Ashley D’Amboise, Tesha Price and Dani Jordyn. She’s been on AEW Dynamite twice, losing to Dr. Britt Baker DMD and Penelope Ford.

Aside from her in-ring work, her background as a cheerleader made her a natural fit to the act of the Varsity Blondes, and in many eyes her addition is something that has truly made the group click. She’s got an edge over others, having been trained in the Nightmare Factory by Cody Rhodes & QT Marshall, and despite only a small amount of in-ring experience, she’s been impressive. We could likely see her brought on with a developmental deal, as she could be a major name for them down the line.

Are you excited for Varsity Blondes in AEW? Will Julia Hart stick around as well? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
