Brodie Lee was known by many as a really good guy who helped many in their wrestling career and friend to many. His passing was devastating and is still affecting the wrestling industry today from the Dark Order to JR announcing each show with you know that means. There are still a lot of tributes to the late, great Brodie Lee.
However, it seems like he was one of the reasons why AEW signed Malakie Black. Malakai Black was in WWE before signing with AEW under the name Aleister Black at the same time, Brodie Lee was a wrestler in WWE under the name Luke Harper.
Malakai Black Podcast with Wrestling Perspective
Speaking with Wrestling Perspective, Malakai had this to say about Brodie Lee:
Looking at both Malakai Black and Brodie Lee, their style is similar to how they tell stories in wrestling. There is a subtlety through their promos. It’s not very surprising that both of them would enjoy working in the same company. It is very sad that we won’t see them together in AEW. We will see Malakai first match in AEW will be on August 3rd against Cody Rhodes.
