It’s main event time at ROH Best In The World, and it’s nice when you have one that could go either way. In one corner we have the dominant ROH World Champion in his second reign, leader of La Faccion Ingobernables, RUSH. He’s only lost a single one on one match in ROH, that being to PCO in 2019. In the other, we have the winner of Survival of The Fittest 2021, the unpredictable Bandido.
Bandido is the perfect mix of speed and power, and just needs that one big signature win to truly make his career in ROH. RUSH is coming back after a one month suspension, and is potentially bigger and stronger than ever before. They’ve met once before in ROH, with RUSH getting the win at 17th Anniversary.
You Mess With El Toro Blanco, You Get The Horns
Before the bell even rang, RUSH would nail a dropkick to start this one right. He’d hit Bulls Horns, an insta kill of a finisher that saw him beat Dalton Castle in six seconds… but RUSH wants to play with Bandido today. This one was over, but Bandido was taken outside and thrown around the outside. Bandido was launched into the barricade, RUSH showing the fans who they wanted to see.
RUSH grabbed some camera cables and whipped Bandido before choking him with them. The champion has no risk here, and Todd Sinclair doesn’t want to throw Bandidos’ chance to become champion away. A heavy chop turned Bandido inside out, before being thrown back into the ring where RUSH stomped on his head and kicked him into the corner. He’d tease a second Bulls Horns, instead giving Bandido a light tap and hitting the signature Los Ingornables pose.
Back outside, RUSH grabbed a chair and hit Bandido with a chair. RUSH knows he won’t get disqualified, but he’d take too much time. Bandido got into the ring and soared back outside to take RUSH down. A second dive would see Bandido spin through the air and take RUSH out. Back in the ring, a shooting star press got a near fall.
Mask Or No Mask, Bandido Proves He Can Survive
RUSH and Bandido would trade strikes in the middle of the ring, the bigger RUSH winning out but Bandido would catch RUSH with an attempt at X-Knee. It was blocked but the crucifix driver wasn’t. RUSH kicked out at two and blocked the next pin attempt for a near fall before hitting a Belly To Belly Suplex in the corner. Bandido would attempt to come back with a dive, but was taken down with a dropkick.
On the outside, RUSH nailed a dive over the top rope to wipe Bandido out. A table would be set up at ringside, before RUSH also grabbed the timekeeper’s table, which was already broken in the last match. RUSH would look for a suplex, but Bandido got into the ring and nailed a superkick. Bandido would take himself over the top, and drive both champion and challenger through the tables.
RUSH was up first, but both men would break the twenty count. Back in the ring, they’d trade German Suplex attempts before RUSH nailed a headbutt and was met with a pop up cutter. RUSH would come back with a spin kick, and collapse soon after. Bandido was pulled to the apron and stomped, before being suplexed over the top rope into the ring, getting another near fall.
Bandido caught RUSH on the top rope and hit the moonsault slam, before nailing 21Plex for a near fall. No one kicks out of that, but RUSH isn’t just anyone. Bandido was thrown into the corner again, had his mask ripped open but was able to roll up RUSH and become the new ROH World Champion!!
This was the perfect main event for ROH’s first show back with fans. RUSH & Bandido played their roles perfectly, and built up to an incredible finish that had fans on the edge of their seats. Bandido is incredible, and RUSH has been a great champion. This won’t be their last clash, and that’s a very good thing. Match Rating: 3.5/5 (*** 1/2)

La Faccion Ingornable would maul Bandido after the match. RUSH handed him the gold with a shot to the face, before putting the belt over his waist and posing with his allies. Bandido is the champion, but the battle isn’t won yet.
