Note: Due to issues with the HonorClub stream, both EC3 vs. Flip Gordon and Brian Johnson & PJ Black vs. The Briscoes were not able to be covered at this time. The Briscoes won the tag team match via pinfall, and EC3 was able to submit Flip Gordon.
Shane Taylor Promotions have the potential to be the team that finally brings some prestige back to the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championships. They won the belts from the now defunct Mexisquad earlier this year, and tonight have an odd challenge for Best in the World. Their opponents are former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle, and two bitter rivals in Eli Isom & Dak Draper. That team reeks of dysfunction, especially with Castle more erratic than ever before, but could that play to their advantage?
Dak Draper Meshes Well With Dalton Castle
Draper would quickly go for a crossbody off the top rope before taking a dropkick from Kaun, who would follow up with a standing moonsault. Moses tagged in alongside Isom, and was able to ragdoll his opponent around the ring. He’d get Castle to join him in the ring, and be able to shove the ROH World Champion into the corner.
Castle dodged a lariat and got free, before tripping Moses over the top rope and fleeing the ring. By the time he got back in the ring, Shane Taylor was legal and would deal with a ranting and raving Castle, before hitting a knock-out level blow. He’d look for Welcome to the Land, but Castle slipped away and tagged in Isom.
Isom was dropped with a rib handle spinebuster, before Kaun was tagged in. Castle grabbed an ankle to slow Kaun down and allow Isom to get control and tag in Draper. Draper would nail some quick knee drops before Castle flowed into the ring for a pinfall attempt. Isom tagged in and Castle called for him to show his stuff, which allowed Kaun to get back into this match, before he’d hit a spinning backdrop.
Shane Taylor Promotions Has No Internal Issues
Castle would get angry at Isom, and this team broke down as Draper took Isom out. Moses would tag in and run Draper down, before hitting a cannonball onto Castle & Isom outside the ring. Draper would miss a tag to Taylor as he caught Moses into a powerslam, before taking a headbutt and package piledriver for the two.
Isom saved the match, before going for a Death Valley Driver on Taylor. Isom went up top and Castle joined up, only to shove him off. Kaun would catch him with an avalanche Jackhammer, before Draper was nailed with Welcome to the Land for the finish.
The dysfunctional tag team storyline distracted from an excellent performance from Shane Taylor Promotions in this one. It was a fun time, as they showed some character work from Castle, Draper & Isom, but not a good match. Match Rating: 2/5 (**)
