One of the best tag teams in AEW was one that most fans never really expected to see in the company. Even on the indies, The Butcher & The Blade weren’t exactly a top team, but they were given a chance early on in AEW and they did a fantastic job. With a gimmick of being hired mercenaries, they have been able to jump from faction to faction, and getting major matches along the way.
Lately they have been part of the Hardy Family Office, but previously worked for MJF & Eddie Kingston. However, lately it has just been The Blade with The Bunny at his side, with The Butcher nowhere to be found. Where did The Butcher go?
The Butcher Suffered A Hand Injury
The last time we saw the intimidating Butcher in an AEW ring was back in April on an episode of AEW Dark. His latest match for the company was at the House Always Wins, a live event which was taped for future showing but not yet released. On that night, he won a 15 man Battle Royale for a shot at Darby Allin for the TNT Championship later in the show, a match which Butcher ultimately lost.
This absence has mainly been due to Butcher suffering an injury to his hand. While hand injuries generally have quick turnaround times, it’s doubly important for Butcher to take the proper time to heal up, as it could affect both of his careers. For those who don’t know, Butcher is also known as Andy Williams, guitarist for popular Hardcore Punk / Metalcore band, Every Time I Die. His hands are important to that job, for obvious reasons.
Expected Back To AEW Soon
However, fans could expect him to show up again soon. Earlier in July, he posted a picture to Twitter alongside his tag team partner, with the caption of “Back to Business.” It’s possible AEW is waiting for him to make his return, as they are back on the road, and have a coming show in New York, the home state of The Butcher. We will likely see him back for that show, even if just for the tapings of AEW Dark.
While Every Time I Die have a new album in the works, their next major tour isn’t until 2022, meaning we can likely hope to see more of The Butcher in 2021 with AEW. 2020 will likely be his busiest year ever for the company however, as he could focus on them with touring shut down.

“popular band”…mmhm..ok More like he needed to attend more proud boy meetings.
everytime I die is a legit band with multiple albums and were even featured on Guitar Hero. Dude also has pro Black Lives Matter postings on his socials. Highly doubt bob knows wtf he’s talking about.
bob is a WWE fan, bob is projecting to make bob feel better about himself. Don’t be like bob
WTF does his music career have anything to do with political BS like the Proud Boys? His tattoos are literally flowers, so I kinda doubt he’s into the hate business, but I’m I’m sure you are on full troll mode.
