This past Friday on Smackdown Live, Dominik Mysterio wrestled his first match in front of a crowd, as he teamed with his father Rey Mysterio & Edge to take on Roman Reigns & The Usos. It was a losing effort, but tonight that simply isn’t an option. For his second match in front of a crowd, he’s teaming with his father to defend the Smackdown Tag Team Championships against The Usos, one of the best tag teams in WWE history.
The Usos Are More Vicious Than Ever
Dominik & Rey had a special pre-entrance video where they walked through a portal into the arena, which got a good reaction from the crowd. Jimmy would start with Dominik, as the crowds were still filing into the arena. Dominik would be forced into the corner, but was able to slip out and get some punches to the face of Jimmy before hitting some deep arm drags. Rey tagged in and hit a double hip toss before Dominik powerbombed him onto Jimmy.
Jimmy would use the size edge to get Rey into the corner to tag in Jey. Rey came back with a dropkick, before being thrown out of the ring hard to the floor. Jimmy was able to maintain control, and a cheap shot from Jey on the ropes kept Rey down. A rear chinlock was applied, but Rey broke out and tagged Dominik who came into the ring with a springboard lariat.
Dominik nailed a running neckbreaker before setting up a triangle moonsault, and taking Jey off the apron after catching what was intended as a blind tag. Both Usos would take a crossbody to the outside, where Dominik was caught and swung right into the barricade. Back in the ring, Dominik was isolated in enemy territory.
The Bloodline Claim All The Gold
The Usos used the legs of Dominik like a wishbone, before Jimmy applied a sleeper hold in the ring. Jimmy looked for a super Samoan Drop, before Dominik countered and chucked him down to the floor. Dominik would have to pull himself to a tag from his dad, and Jey would meet Rey in the ring. Rey would take Jey down with a flying headscissor, before being launched to the apon.
He’d land on his feet and hit a forearm strike before a seated senton for a two count. Rey looked to set up a Dragonrana, but Jimmy got a tag and broke the pin up before nailing a pop up Samoan Drop. The Usos looked for a double superkick, but Dominik would be stopped by Jimmy before Rey rolled up Jey for a two count. Jey kicked out and ended up in position for a 619. Jimmy saved Jey from impact, and Jey nailed a superkick and Uso Splash for two count.
A ‘This is awesome’ chant broke out, as The Usos looked for the double splash. Rey would counter out, but get tossed into the turnbuckle and rolled up by Jimmy. With some help from his brother, they’d steal their seventh tag team championship. Now, The Bloodline have all the gold.
Hands down the best match Dominik Mysterio has been in yet. It was fast paced and high drama until the end. The Usos showed why they’re tag team experts, and entered a reign where they might be unstoppable. Match Rating: 3.75/5 (*** 3/4)
