With Money in the Bank in the rearview, WWE Raw Preview is set for the fun aftermath as we begin the journey to SummerSlam.
To help us along that journey, John Cena will open tonight’s show and explain why he appeared last night and stole the moment from Roman Reigns.
Naturally, that would get us to expect him to appear on Smackdown, and that may still happen, but first he’ll pop in to help Raw’s ratings.
It may even lead to a verbal altercation between him and Bobby Lashley or even Goldberg since he’s been rumored to appear on tonight’s show.
Whatever’s going to happen, Cena will give the show a much needed ratings bump and we’re curious to hear what he has to say.
Goldberg rumors
As for Goldberg, it’s been rumored that he’s going to face Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam and he’ll make an appearance tonight.
While the news hasn’t gone beyond the rumor phase, he may not put in an appearance. But if he does, it’s possible he and Cena could enter into a verbal feud about who will face Lashley or Reigns or both.
Since he’s only contracted for a couple of matches a year, we think he’ll pop in tonight.
As much fun as it’d be so see him and Cena in a match, given his limited contractual status, we doubt if that’ll happen but who knows? Anything can change.
We could even see him and Brock Lesnar as a tag team at some point in a ratings and cash grab. We never say never.
Charlotte Flair’s latest run
A funny thing happened at Money in the Bank last night. Charlotte Flair won the Raw Women’s Championship from Rhea Ripley by submission.
We love Flair and it’s always great to see her in action, but this is bringing some backlash.
Fans are tired of seeing her in the championship picture. It is what it is. The problem is, it’s not her fault.
Yes, she’s one of the best but the WWE is horrible at building their women’s division, and when they get a talent like Ripley they tend to shortchange them and give the belt to an established veteran.
To add to this is the possibility that Becky Lynch could return tonight and challenge Flair.
Lynch has been seen behind the scenes regularly now, so it looks like her return is more about when than if, and this is the perfect time as it’ll boost ratings.
Maybe Nikki A.S.H. will cash in her MITB contract if someone knocks Flair out? They did that for Bayley a couple of years back. Just saying.
We just hope the storytelling that’s been lacking the last year improves and it’s not just big names returning.
What do you think John Cena will say? Let WWE Raw Preview know below in the comments.
