On the debut episode of AEW Rampage, in the opening match, Christian Cage did what few have been able to do in AEW. He defeated Kenny Omega, winning the Impact Wrestling Championship in the process. Tonight, with All Out in their sights, they will clash again in tag team action. Christian has The Elite Hunter, Frankie Kazarian by his side, while Kenny Omega has his number one stooge, Brandon Cutler. Can Omega avoid going 0-2 on Rampage?
Kenny Omega Hopes To Get A Clean Win At All Out
Before they’d lock up, we’d see an interview that Mark Henry had with both men. Omega would be asked about being worried about losing his championship or getting injured tonight, but if all goes well? It’ll be a One Winged Angel and a 1-2-3. However, Christian is ready to take out Omega, and Kazarian is just ready for Cutler to be thrown to the wolves by Omega & Don Callis tonight.
The crowd would be chanting Piece of Shit at Callis, who was kicked away from commentary by Mark Henry. Kazarian started with Cutler, and got beaten into the corner with ease. Cutler was thrown to Omega, who made a reluctant tag, before Nakazawa tripped Kazrian up and Omega took advantage. However, Omega got cocky and paid for it, being nailed a russian leg sweep.
Christian tagged in and sent Omega running, with Culter being tagged in. A punch to the face hurt even through the face mask, and he’d be tripped onto the ropes before Kazarian hit a springboard leg drop. Cutler was draped over the top rope, and kicked to the outside. Nakazawa used a laptop to hit Kazarian, before Omega hit a lariat.
Christian Cage Sends Omega Running
Back in the ring, Omega would hit the rolling Fireman’s Carry and moonsault for a two count. He’d provoke Christian before going after the eyes of Kazarian. Cutler hit a kick to the back, before hitting an elbow drop, even dabbing before one. Christian would come in and Omega fled, as Cutler was beaten down in the ring. Omega tried to sneak in as Christian nailed chops, grabbing him into the One Winged Angel before being countered and punched in the head.
A reverse DDT doubled as a dodge to a flying nothing from Cutler, before hitting another DDT and sizing him up for the Killswitch. Omega would yank Christian into the ring post, and in the ring looked to get a free V-Trigger, only to get Cutler instead. When faced with another Killswitch, Omega fled and left Culter to be. A big spear and Killswitch ended this one.
