Prince William and Kate Middleton have been happily married for a decade as a Royal couple.
Prince William Dumped Kate Middleton Over The Phone
The pair got married in 2011 and are now parents to three children: George, Charlotte and Louis. And by the looks of it, they could not be any happier. And yet, things were not always this way.
It seems that during the early parts of their relationship in 2007, William made the decision to break up with Kate. The circumstances in which it occurred were not the most graceful.
In an interview with the Mirror, a former colleague of Kate outlined the circumstances: “Around the middle of the day, she was pacing the car park outside the office on her mobile.” A few people noticed because it’s a pretty unusual thing to do.
“She’d deliberately gone outside to take the call because she didn’t want to be overheard.” And accounts revealed that William had told her he was breaking up with her over the phone.
As the news then went public, it was clear for Kate’s colleague to see what the incident was about. The reason why William decided to end things was because he wanted to focus on his Royal duties.
Not only that, but William was having doubts about whether Kate could handle the media scrutiny that was going to come her way should she join the Royal family. And these sentiments were being played out on the telephone call.
The colleague added: “Kate was walking up and down and looking upset as if she was having an argument, but she didn’t cry. Word went round that it was William, and they were having problems – now it’s clear what it was all about.”
Those worries are now firmly behind them. Their wedding was watched by over 100 million people worldwide, as it became the biggest Royal wedding in history. They may still have their issues, but they managed to show a united front to the public.
We have seen this with their response to the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle saga. Looking back, William and Kate made the right decision to marry each other. And we wish them the best in the future.
