The Royal family is set to have an emotional weekend as they acknowledge the 24th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.
Royals Set To Acknowledge The 24th Anniversary Of Princess Diana’s Death
Diana, for her part, left a massive legacy in the Royal family. She was one of the most popular members, as she resonated with the public so well. Not only that but she was known for her countless philanthropic efforts.
Naturally, her death was a shock given that it had happened in the most tragic of circumstances, that being a car crash.
In order to pay their respects to Diana, a statue has been made in honour of her by Prince William and Prince Harry. This will allow the public and future generations to know just how much of an impact Diana had made.
In an official statement made by The Royal family, they remarked: “[We] will be providing access to the Cradle Walk, which is essentially the beautiful walkway around the Sunken Garden.
“We will be opening that up, freely available, for passers-by or anybody who wants to stop and take a moment on that Tuesday, especially for the anniversary.”
Aside from the impact that Diana made on the public, William has also been very frank over his feelings towards losing his mother at such a young age.
And given that he has now become such a focal point in the Royal family, he has had to carry on the burden without her. This did have an impact on the man that he grew up to become and the choices he subsequently made.
In a documentary entitled, ‘Football, Prince William and Our Mental Health,’ William said: “When you’ve been through something traumatic in life…your emotions come back in leaps and bounds because it’s a very different phase of life.
“There’s no one there to kind of help you.” One thing for sure is that the Royal family will never be the same without Diana. But the best way they can honour her is to continue doing the things that she was known for.
And as for William and Harry, as long as they are happy, then Diana would have been proud of them. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
