Right now, NXT is on the verge of some major changes. While Triple H will still be one of the driving forces behind the brand, it will no longer be his pet project alone. WWE CEO Vince McMahon and President Nick Khan having a more keen eye on the talent and direction, things are really going to change. We have now seen the first change, as NXT gets a new and more bright logo.
New WWE NXT Logo Gets Mixed Reaction
The logo was tweeted out by WWE NXT with “Coming Soon.” attached. You can see the image above, in all it’s neon glory. This is a far departure from the more heavy metal inspired look we’ve seen in recent years, and will move away from the ‘Black & Gold’ branding NXT has had for many years. It will certainly offer a fresh vibe, but initial reaction from fans is quite mixed.
Some compared it to the intro of AEW Dynamite, the show which shoved them into this position. Others have taken to calling it “NXT Kids Mode”. Meanwhile, some others have noted it as being more unique and eye-catching, as opposed to the more bland current logo. However for better or for worse, this is just the start of an NXT reboot.
Just The First Of Coming Changes
This was just one of the rumored pieces to the coming NXT. We are also supposed to be seeing a new stage for the Capitol Wrestling Center, some new hiring procedures that will move away from grabbing hot indy talents and more on getting athletes, and potentially a different format. Wrestling fans are quick to hate any type of change, but given the recent trends of WWE, this might not be unwarranted.
We will have to wait and see how these changes will impact WWE NXT. Changing up the logo and stale Capitol Wrestling Center is one thing, but a new format and less experienced talent is worth worrying about. Either way, a new era is coming to the brand, and given how stagnant NXT has been, it might be long overdue.
