The current leader of long running New Japan Pro Wrestling faction BULLET CLUB has been making lots of moves in the United States as of late. Jay White has been around in Impact Wrestling, having recruited Chris Bey into the faction while there, and is set to defend his NEVER Openweight Championship at NJPW Resurgence this weekend. However, he will also be making his debut for Warrior Wrestling on August 21st, putting him in Chicago right around the same time as AEW will be running shows. Is this more than a coincidence?
AEW & NJPW Have Been Working Together
AEW & NJPW have been showing a very healthy relationship as of late, having the IWGP United States Championship change hands in the main event of an episode of AEW Dynamite. They’ve also brought on names like Yuji Nagata, Ren Narita, Rocky Romero, Hiroshi Tanahashi and the one who started it all, KENTA. Jay White is expected at this point, especially after showing up in Impact Wrestling, but hasn’t been around just yet.
However, with White set to potentially miss out on the G1 Climax this year due to scheduling conflicts with him working tapings for NJPW Strong, maybe a run in AEW could be in the works. On August 20th, AEW presents Rampage: The First Dance, which would be a huge place for a debut like Jay White. He’s in the right town afterall.
Jay White Has Some History With Kenny Omega
During their time together in NJPW, Jay White was the one to kick Kenny Omega out of Bullet Club, and took his spot as leader. This came after he took the IWGP United States Championship from Omega, which was their only singles match. Kenny Omega would proceed to leave NJPW and help start up AEW, the rest was history.
However, with White coming after Omega in Impact Wrestling? It’s clear they’re not done clashing yet. This was rumored to be the main event of AEW’s All Out PPV, but that has now been confirmed to be Christian Cage vs. Kenny Omega. It’s still a huge match to be sure, and one that almost needs to happen at this point.
Will this match happen in AEW, NJPW, or Impact Wrestling? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
